Coast to Coast Challenge 2011

On the 18th May 2011 a team of walkers will set off from St.Bees in Cumbria. Their aim is to trek from the West Coast to the East Coast of England, following a route devised by the late Alfred Wainwright. The arduous 192 mile march will be completed in 12 days, ending at Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire. The team are raising money for Guide Dogs For The Blind & St Dunstan’s The team consists of Martin Howarth, Kerry Levins, Sharon Levins and a very special dog called Pedro.

The reason why Pedro is so special is because he will be guiding Kerry every step of the way, as he does, each and every day. Pedro is a Guide Dog and Kerry is a St. Dunstaner. After losing his sight, Kerry found help from Guide Dogs and as a former Army officer he gained assistance from St. Dunstan’s – A charity for blind ex-servicemen and women.
